Yeah, that's my key guiding element to if I recommend Linux to people.

Personally, I think it's interesting to learn the ins and outs. I want to be a librarian and so want to be at my best for hypothetical IT stuff that comes with the job. However if you have work/life balance which means all you want to do at the end of the day is rest up...I would say stick to Windows and Apple.
